Africa’s biggest entertainment stars assembled in Lagos for the 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, where outstanding performances in film, television and digital content creation were honoured.
The colourful ceremony brought together actors, filmmakers, producers and content creators from across the continent in celebration of excellence in African storytelling and entertainment.
One of the major highlights of the night was the impressive outing by “My Father’s Shadow,” which clinched top awards including Best Movie, Best Director and Best Writing in a Movie.
Other productions, including “Colours of Fire,” “To Kill a Monkey” and “Lisabi (A Legend Is Born),” also recorded multiple wins in various categories.

Speaking after receiving their awards, some winners including Linda Ejiofor, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Uzor Arukwe and Uche Montana expressed appreciation to the organisers and fans for their continued support.
Kanayo O. Kanayo described the recognition as “a reward for years of consistency, dedication and hard work in the entertainment industry.”

The event further reflected the growing impact of African cinema and television productions on the global entertainment scene.

Best Lead Actress — “The Serpent’s Gift” – Linda Ejiofor
Best Lead Actor — “Colours of Fire” – Uzor Arukwe
Trailblazer Award — Uche Montana
Industry Merit Award — Sola Sobowale
Industry Recognition Award — Kanayo O. Kanayo.
