The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening partnership with the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) to improve the ease of doing business, attract investment, and advance its Vision 2070 development agenda.
Representing the Governor, the Secretary to the State Government, Chiamaka Nnake stated this during the PEBEC Nationwide Town Hall and State Engagement Tour held at the International Convention Centre, Awka.
Nnake said “the collaboration would support ongoing reforms aimed at simplifying business processes, enhancing transparency, and creating a more investor-friendly environment in Anambra State and the South-East region.”
She noted that the initiative aligns with Governor Soludo’s vision of transforming Anambra into a leading digital economy and investment destination.
“This programme aligns with our commitment to achieving the Vision 2070 agenda of the Anambra State Government,” Nnake said.
She said that “the state remains committed to leveraging strategic partnerships to attract investment, stimulate economic activities, and promote sustainable growth.”
Nnake also urged investors and other stakeholders to support the initiative to accelerate economic development in the state.
The Director-General of PEBEC, Princess Zahrah Audu said the nationwide engagement was designed to strengthen collaboration among federal and state governments, the private sector, and other stakeholders in improving Nigeria’s business environment.
According to her, the initiative seeks to identify challenges confronting businesses across the country and facilitate reforms that will make business operations easier and more efficient.
“Our goal is to create an enabling environment that attracts investment and drives sustainable economic growth by engaging directly with stakeholders in every state,” Audu said.
She said that the programme is aimed at driving business-friendly reforms across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Audu further noted that President Bola Tinubu’s economic agenda places significant emphasis on sub-national development, stressing that economic growth would increasingly be driven by states, local governments, and industrial clusters.
She commended the Anambra State Government for its commitment to fostering a conducive environment for businesses and investment.
Also speaking, the State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Chukwukadibia Okoye, said the PEBEC initiative would strengthen Anambra’s investment climate by reducing bureaucratic bottlenecks, boosting investor confidence, improving access to investment opportunities, and enhancing infrastructure development.
Okoye explained that the reforms would help institutionalise economic transformation efforts and position Anambra as one of Nigeria’s leading investment destinations.
Participants at the town hall described the engagement as productive and insightful, while panel discussions focused on strategies for improving the business climate and accelerating economic growth in Anambra State and across Nigeria.
