Anambra state Governor, Chukwuma Soludo has approved the reappointment of key agency heads, retaining Mr. Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata as Managing Director of the Information and Communication Technology Agency.
The decision was announced iin Awka by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime.
It confirmed that Mr. Emeka Okonkwo (Konti) will continue as Managing Director of the Anambra Road Traffic Management Agency, while Mr. Osita Onuko remains at the helm of the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority.
According to the statement, the reappointments are aimed at sustaining momentum and strengthening performance across the agencies following the governor’s first term.
Agbata, a technology entrepreneur and ecosystem builder, has overseen efforts to expand digital infrastructure and promote innovation-led growth in the state. His tenure at ASICTA has focused on advancing the digital economy through programmes targeting youth empowerment, startup development and digital skills acquisition.
Prior to his public sector role, Agbata was active in Nigeria’s technology ecosystem, working with startups, investors and innovation hubs to improve access to funding, mentorship and global networks. His combined private and public sector experience has informed initiatives designed to create a more enabling environment for technology-driven enterprise.
Under his leadership, ASICTA has broadened engagement with local and international partners, contributing to Anambra’s emergence within Nigeria’s evolving technology landscape. The agency’s initiatives have also sought to strengthen digital capacity, attract investment and support entrepreneurship.
The reappointments underscore the state government’s focus on policy continuity, particularly in its digital transformation agenda, as it seeks to consolidate existing gains and expand opportunities within the innovation-driven economy.
