A Cheiftain of the All Progressive Congress APC, in Kano state Abdulmahjid Danbilki Kwammanda has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for removing the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Mr. Sabo Nanono.
President Buhari removed the former Minister on Wednesday saying the decision was part of assessing the administration and rejigging it.
The APC stalwart gave the commendation at a Press briefing in Kano state.
He said the removal will begin to bring about the much needed results in the agricultural sector, which is a mainstay of the nation’s economy.
He said right from the beginning of the appointment, he was sceptical about the performance of the minister.
“I openly criticised his appointment because of his attitude and now i’m vindicated.”
“I would suggest the President use better criteria to select his replacement, than what he used earlier,” said Danbilki.
He called on the President to set up a committee to review activities of the former minister while in the office, urging EFCC to also promptly commence investigation on him.
The APC stalwart also called on the President to  carry out similar excercise in  the Ministry of Defence due to increased insecurity in the country.
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Minister of Defence Major-General Salihi Magashi, rtd, were both appointed from Kano state into the President Buhari led administration in 2019.
