The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed claims by former Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, that the 2026 Service-Wide Vote (SWV) is intended to fund President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign.
In a statement, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, described Atiku’s allegation as “mischievous” and lacking factual basis, arguing that the Service-Wide Vote is a long-established budgetary mechanism used to meet government-wide obligations and unforeseen expenditures.

The ruling party said Atiku failed to provide evidence to support his claims, accusing him of attempting to mislead Nigerians and divert attention from what it described as the Tinubu administration’s achievements.
According to the APC, the Service-Wide Vote is a recognised public finance instrument used in Nigeria and other democracies to address contingencies and is “not a secret fund or illegal slush account.”
The party also criticised the former vice president over his record in public office, alleging that he was trying to project his own past onto the current administration.
The APC further argued that President Tinubu’s government has demonstrated fiscal responsibility through initiatives such as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), the implementation of the new national minimum wage, the Consumer Credit Scheme, the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Initiative, expanded infrastructure investments, healthcare and agricultural programmes, and ongoing tax reforms.
It maintained that the administration remains committed to delivering its Renewed Hope Agenda, strengthening the economy, expanding infrastructure, and improving the welfare of Nigerians.
