The All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Usman Maijama’a Kallamu, has won the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency bye-election held on Saturday, 19 September 2026.
The bye-election was conducted to fill the vacant seat in the House of Representatives following the death of the constituency’s former representative, Yaya Bauchi Tongo.

Accouncing the report, the Returning Officers, professor Umar Gurama Abubakar of Federal University Kashere, said the APC won with 41,121 votes against LP with 1681 APM 872, NDP 707 and APP 298.

Professor Abubakar said there were
47, 301 votes cast, out of which 46,551 were valid and 750 were rejected.
With 41,121 votes, Usman Maijama’a Kallamu of the APC secured the highest number of votes and emerged as the winner of the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency bye-election.
The election was conducted across 903 polling units in 31 Registration Areas covering the three Local Government Areas that make up the constituency.
