The All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed Saturday, August 22, 2026, for its primary elections ahead of the 2026 legislative bye-elections and the restoration of four previously suppressed State House of Assembly constituencies.

The party announced the timetable for primaries in Delta, Kogi, Gombe, Bauchi and Kano State in a notice signed by its National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu.
The affected restored constituencies are Abraka, Isoko North II and Ughelli South II in Delta State, and Yagba West II in Kogi State.
The APC will also conduct primaries for the legislative bye-elections in Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency in Gombe; Disina and Sakwa State Constituencies in Bauchi; Udu State Constituency in Delta; and Dawakin Kudu State Constituency in Kano.
According to the timetable, the sale of nomination forms will run from Tuesday, August 18, to Thursday, August 20, while the deadline for submission of completed forms and accompanying documents is August 20.
Screening of aspirants and publication of screening results will take place on August 21, with screening appeals also scheduled for the same day.
The APC said election appeals would be heard on Monday, August 24.
Under the approved fees, House of Assembly aspirants are to pay N1 million as expression of interest and N5 million as a nomination fee, bringing the total to N6 million.
For the House of Representatives, the expression of interest fee is N1 million, while the nomination fee is N9 million, totalling N10 million.
The party added that female, youth and physically challenged aspirants would pay only the expression of interest fee and 50 per cent of the prescribed nomination fee.
