By Nokai Origin, Abuja

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of military personnel and their families, declaring quality healthcare fundamental to troop morale, operational readiness, and overall combat effectiveness.

General Shaibu made the declaration while unveiling the newly constructed Headquarters of the Nigerian Army Medical Corps at the Muhammadu Buhari Cantonment in Giri, Federal Capital Territory, urging the corps to continually elevate healthcare delivery across military barracks and host communities.

According to institutional directives from the military leadership, the Army Chief emphasised that comprehensive medical investments extend beyond routine clinical care, giving deployed troops the confidence that their families can access responsive health services.

He noted that the state-of-the-art facility directly aligns with his Command Philosophy of Sound Administration and the “Soldier First Concept.”

In his welcome address, the Corps Commander Medical, Brigadier General Innocent Ewunchola, thanked the Army Chief for sustained infrastructure investments.

He pledged the Corps dedication to maintaining professional standards, driving innovation, and optimising administrative efficiency across military health facilities nationwide.
