Arsenal Maintains Five Point Lead After Beating Bournemouth

Arsenal battled from two goals down to stage a dramatic 3-2 victory against Bournemouth, maintaining its five-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, courtesy of goals from Thomas Partey, Ben White and Reiss Nelson, at the Emirates Stadium.

The hosts started with Leandro Trossard in attack, with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli supporting on the flanks. For Bournemouth, Dominic Solanke featured up-front in a 5-4-1 formation as they looked to upset the league leaders.

Bournemouth opened the scoring a few seconds after kick-off in dramatic fashion as a quick attack saw Philip Billing calmly place the ball into the net beating Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

Arsenal looked to respond after going behind but Bournemouth defended brilliantly in the first half to keep the Gunners out.

In the 57th minute, Bournemouth extended its lead after defender Marcos Senesi’s header from a corner kick silenced the fans at the Emirates Stadium.

However, five minutes later Arsenal responded through Ghanaian international Partey as his shot after a corner kick beat Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto to start the comeback.

In the 70th minute, Arsenal equalised through substitute Ben White as he scoring his first goal for the Gunners, firing the ball into the net from a Reiss Nelson cross.

Arsenal saved the best for last in the final minute of stoppage time as the ball fell to substitute Nelson after a corner kick. The winger did well to control the ball, before releasing a thunderbolt into the net to claim all three points for Arsenal with the last kick of the game.

The Gunners once again found a way to battle to victory after a series of penalty decisions didn’t go their way in the thrilling encounter.

The victory saw Arsenal go five points clear at the top of the table with 63 points from 26 games, while second-placed Manchester City are on 58 points from 26 games.
