Frontline House of Representatives aspirant for Oshodi-Isolo II in Lagos State, Kehinde Bamigbetan, has commended President Bola Tinubu’s administration for what he described as its commitment to fulfilling electoral promises despite difficult policy decisions.
Bamigbetan made the remarks after receiving the Special Recognition in Politics Award from City People Magazine ahead of the May 18, 2026, All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries.
Speaking at the event, the APC chieftain said the Tinubu administration had remained focused on delivering on its campaign pledges to Nigerians.
According to him, the administration has stayed committed to implementing its electoral promises, even where such decisions required sacrifice and political courage.
Bamigbetan also declared his readiness for the APC primaries, maintaining that he had earned the party’s ticket after stepping down for incumbent lawmakers in previous election cycles.
“I am ready for the party primaries. I was prepared to contest and win in 2015 and 2023 before I was persuaded to step down to allow the incumbents to seek a second term,” he said.
He added that he had strengthened his political structure and was better positioned for the contest.
“I have recharged and repositioned my political machinery and I am more formidable than ever,” Bamigbetan stated.
Presenting the award, City People Publisher, Seye Kehinde, said Bamigbetan was honoured after a review of his political contributions spanning student unionism, labour activism, local government administration and state governance.
Kehinde described Bamigbetan’s political approach as one driven by “intellectual analysis, popular engagement and strategic communication”.
Bamigbetan previously served as Chief Press Secretary to President Bola Tinubu during his tenure as Governor of Lagos State. He also served as chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area and Commissioner for Information and strategy in Lagos State.
Until recently, he was Special Adviser to the Minister of Solid Minerals Development.
