APC Inaugurates 21 Anambra Chairmen, Intensifies 2027 Preparations

The Anambra State chapter of Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated 21 newly elected local government chairmen as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The inauguration ceremony was held on Monday at the party’s state headquarters in Awka, the state capital.

Speaking at the event, the State APC Chairman, Senator Emmanuel Anosike, urged the new officials to demonstrate commitment, discipline and loyalty to the party’s ideals.

Represented by the state vice chairman, Chief Joe Okeke, Anosike described the inauguration as a significant step toward consolidating the APC’s organisational structure at the grassroots level ahead of the 2027 National Assembly and State House of Assembly elections.

“We found you worthy to pilot the affairs of the party for the next four years,” he said. “Your role is critical to the growth and consolidation of the party in Anambra State and Nigeria at large.”

He said the newly sworn-in chairmen had been formally inaugurated in line with the party’s constitution and mandated to begin the inauguration of executives at council and ward levels across the state.

Anosike also said the move signalled the APC’s readiness to challenge the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) administration led by Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo in future legislative contests.

“The State Working Committee of APC in Anambra State is determined to win all legislative seats in the state,” he said. “With today’s inauguration, our team is complete for the electoral contest.”

He credited the party’s past successes in the state to its grassroots network and called on members to maintain unity and avoid internal divisions as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.

“The responsibility before you is enormous,” Anosike said. “You must remain diligent in the discharge of your duties and committed to the ideals of the party.”
