The Director General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC), Mr Buba Yakubu, has expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his prompt actions aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s standing in the global arena.
Mr Yakubu made the commendation during a sensitisation programme organized by members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Adamawa State Assembly, Northeast Nigeria.

In a keynote address, the NTAC DG, Mr Yakubu, highlighted the accomplishments of President Tinubu’s administration during his first two years in office.
These, he said, include initiatives to reposition Nigeria on the world stage via the TAC Scheme, significant diplomatic engagements by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, various social intervention programmes for the underprivileged, investments in technical and vocational training, scholarships for students, and other impactful initiatives.
Mr Yakubu urged the populace to prepare for President Tinubu’s re-election in the upcoming term.

The DG highlighted projects such as the construction of a 750-kilometre superhighway connecting Calabar to Lagos, Sokoto to Badagry, Akwanga to Gombe and Yola, and Calabar to Abuja, alongside the Southeastern corridor railway lines.
According to him, these projects aim to enhance accessibility within Nigeria’s hinterland and promote socio-economic development.
Mr Yakubu credited these advancements to President Tinubu’s decisive actions in removing the long-standing fuel subsidy and floating the national currency.
“President Tinubu took an unprecedented step by abolishing the fuel subsidy even before formally taking office. This bold move has revitalised Nigeria’s economy, allowing us to become exporters of refined petroleum products instead of merely importing gasoline, despite our abundant crude oil resources,” Mr Yakubu said.
The DG explained that the cessation of fuel subsidies and the floating of the Naira, rather than artificially subsidising the US Dollar, had resulted in substantial savings for Nigeria.
He recalled that during the 9th National Assembly, fuel subsidy claims engulfed a significant portion of the national budget.
“These crucial decisions have led to increased revenue in our states over the past two years, facilitating the monumental developments we are witnessing across the federation,” he noted.
The DG also praised President Tinubu for appointing Mallam Nuhu Ribadu as the National Security Adviser at a time when Nigeria faced severe security challenges.
During the event, the National Vice Chairman of the APC in the North-East Zone, Comrade Salisu Mustapha, contrasted the previous state of security with the current situation under Tinubu’s leadership.
Comrade Mustapha expressed gratitude for the public’s support, which resulted in their recent victory in a bye-election, and emphasised the party’s commitment to reclaiming victory in the 2027 elections.
He acknowledged the importance of the gathering and thanked party members from neighbouring states like Taraba and Gombe, encouraging them to replicate such engagements at the ward levels throughout Adamawa State.
Among the attendees were members of the APC National Executive Committee from the Northeast Zone, Adamawa State Chairman Barr Idris, local government officials, and ward executive committee members.
The event concluded with endorsements for President Tinubu and other party leaders as they look forward to the next phase of their governance.
