FCTA holds special Church Service prayers for Nigerian Children

As part of activities to mark the 2021 Children’s Day celebrations on May 27th in Nigeria, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has held special Sunday service prayers for Nigerian Children.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Chairman in the FCT, Reverend Samson Jonah committed the 2021 Children’s Day Celebrations to the hands of the Almighty God during the church service at ECWA Church, Maitama in Abuja.

Lamenting on the low key celebrations occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic and the existence of TaskForce in the FCT on strict adherence to the protocol and guidelines of the COVID-19, he said, “It has become imperative for the leaders of the country to come together in unison and pray for the Country.

He urged leaders to come together as one irrespective of religious and political inclination to seek God’s intervention in addressing security challenges in the country.

Rev. Jonah commended the FCT Administration for seeking the face of God by taking out time to offer prayers @ both the Mosque and Church for a unique 2021 Children’s Day Celebration.

Speaking earlier at the prayer session, the Acting Secretary, FCT Social Development Secretariat (SDS), Dr Kevin Ike who was represented at the event by the Deputy Director Child Welfare of Gender Department, Mr Kumsal Wuyep expressed optimism that this year’s Children Day Celebration despite its low key was going to be the best because of the array of events lined up to entertain the children.

He encouraged parents to always make out time for their Children, mentor and tutor them accordingly because they are the future.

“That way, when they grow up, they shall not depart from those values already built into them but grow to become sort after Children excelling in every area of endeavours as well as becoming good & patriotic citizens of the country, he added.

Some of the activities lined up include the Children’s Parliament session/Election of new EXCO’s scheduled for Monday 24th May 2021 at SDS Cinema Hall. On Tuesday 25th May, 2021 is a Press Conference by the FCT Minister of State, Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu and HMoWA, Dame Dr. Pauline Tallen at the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs.

The FCT 2021 Children’s Day celebrations will be held at the Executive Hall of the International Conference Center on Thursday 27th May 2021 by 10:00 am.
