Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives candidate for Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency, Mukhtar Usman Galadima, has commended the Nigerian military and other security agencies over the rescue of 18 kidnapped victims in Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba State.
Galadima, in a statement reacting to the rescue, said the operation demonstrated the importance of a swift security response to reports of criminal activities in vulnerable communities.
The victims were rescued after troops of Sector 3 responded to reports of kidnapping activities at Kwatan Bajji in the early hours of 18 August.
He called for sustained security operations in Ibi, Wukari and other vulnerable communities across Taraba State to prevent further attacks and protect residents.
Galadima also urged stronger cooperation and intelligence-sharing among the military, police and other security and intelligence agencies to improve the detection and disruption of criminal activities.
He said security agencies should strengthen preventive measures to identify threats and track criminal networks before they carry out attacks.
The candidate further called for improved intelligence infrastructure, modern surveillance capabilities and sustained support for security personnel to strengthen their operational capacity.
He urged residents, community leaders and traditional institutions to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information on suspicious movements and activities.
Galadima also called on security agencies to protect the identities of credible informants and strengthen community-based intelligence networks.
He congratulated the rescued victims and their families and urged security forces to sustain operations until criminal elements operating in the area were brought to justice.
Galadima said stronger collaboration between security agencies and local communities would contribute to improved security in Wukari, Ibi and other vulnerable parts of Taraba State.
