Gombe State Governor and Chairman of the Northern Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Inuwa Yahaya, has felicitated Muslims in Gombe State and across the world on the occasion of this year’s Eid-al-Maulud celebration.

Governor Yahaya called on Muslims to draw inspiration from the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet, particularly his virtues of peaceful coexistence, compassion, humility, tolerance, modesty, generosity, selflessness and exemplary leadership.

The Governor urged Muslims to translate these noble values into their daily actions, interactions and relationships, stressing that the essence of the Maulud celebration should go beyond commemoration to a renewed commitment to living by the teachings and exemplary character of the Prophet.

“As we commemorate this great day, let us continue to emulate the noble Messenger of Allah in our actions, interactions and relationships for the betterment of our society,” he said.

Governor Yahaya also called on Muslims to use the occasion to offer prayers for the peace, unity, stability and prosperity of Gombe State and Nigeria, noting that collective prayers, mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence remain essential to the progress of society.

“The celebration of Maulud should strengthen our faith and unite us as a people, bringing us together to pray for unity, peace, progress and stability in our beloved state and nation, as we strive for growth and development,” Governor Yahaya said.

The Governor urged leaders and citizens alike to remain committed to their responsibilities and contribute their best towards building a peaceful, united and prosperous society.

“In this Eid-al-Maulud and always, let us take a moment to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings and strive to embody the values he left behind for the betterment of our society and the world,” he noted.

Governor Yahaya urged the people of Gombe State to remain patriotic, hopeful and optimistic, while assuring them of his administration’s continued commitment to implementing programmes and policies aimed at transforming the socio-economic landscape of the state and improving the wellbeing of its citizens.

He particularly urged youths and other celebrants to observe the Maulud festivities peacefully, responsibly and with decorum, while remaining law-abiding and adhering to established protocols governing public celebrations.

Governor Yahaya wished Muslims a peaceful and spiritually rewarding Eid-al-Maulud celebration and prayed that the occasion would bring renewed faith, unity, peace and blessings to Gombe State and Nigeria.
