Gombe United’s Return To NPFL Excites Governor Inuwa

The Executive Governor of Gombe State, Muhammad Inuwa, expressed joy over what he described as a motivational achievement as Gombe United football club returned to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The Savannah Scorpions were relegated to the second division in 2018/2019 season.

Reacting to the victory of the Savannah Scorpions in the super-eight play-off matches, Inuwa hailed the team’s management led by Lanre Daniel and the players for “putting up superlative performance.”

“We are proud of the boys and their management team for making us proud and giving the entire sports loving people of Gombe something to cheer and cherish,” Governor Inuwa said.

“The players had demonstrated resilience, capability, discipline and tactical know-how during their matches.”

He urged them to maintain the spirit in the Premier League and continue to do the state proud.  He also assured the players and the management of his government’s continued investment in sports development in the state.
