Governor Umahi Deploys Security To Arrest Killers Of Traditional Ruler

The Governor of Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria, Engr David Umahi has deployed security personnel to arrest and Prosecute the Killers of His Royal Majesty late Eze Igboke Ewa who was murdered by hoodlums yesterday.

Governor Umahi made this move to forestall further killing in the community

Late His Royal Highness Igboke Ewa until his death was a traditional ruler of Umuezekoha autonomous community in Ezza North Local Government Area of the State.

Umahi warned political gladiators to stop inciting the youths against their people by making a statement that can cause crisis thereby taking away people’s live because “I was informed that the king was killed because the late Ewa was supporting a particular political parties”.

He added that democracy is all about making different choices.

“I was called by the Son of the late Igboke Ewa that their father has been murdered by unknown people, Immediately, I deployed security to that area to fish out the perpetrators of the dastard act. I was shocked on what could have motivated the killing of such old man who was at his eighties”. Umahi said.

“I pray that God should review the Killers of the King”. Umahi added.

Election security

The Governor cautioned some security personnel who connived with imported thugs by the opposition political parties to to rig election in favour of the oppositions in the State during the last Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly election.

Consequently, Umahi has made appropriate petition to the Inspector General of Police Baba Alkali.

He further urged all the Candidates contesting election from different political parties to always seek redress at the appropriate authorities instead of protesting in the streets which might be hijacked by criminals.

He thanked all Ebonyi people for peaceful Presidential and National Assembly election last Saturday.
