The Minority Caucus of the House of Representatives has elected Mr Fredrick Agbedi as its leader in the House.
The decision was announced by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Tajudeen Abbas at the plenary.
The minority members of the 10th Assembly hereby unanimously nominate the following members by consensus to fill the vacant positions of the minority in the parliament. Number one, minority leader, Fredrick Agbedi. Number two, the position of minority whip, and the person they have endorsed is no other than Mansur Soro.
Last but not least is my brother from the northwest, in the person of Abdusamad Dasuki, for the position of deputy minority leader.
“So honourable colleagues, today the body of principal officers is complete, and I want to seize this opportunity on behalf of the whole entire house to congratulate the three people and to wish them all the best in their new positions.” Mr Abbas said.

He assured the new principal officers that the leadership of the house will work with them assiduously in ensuring that they achieve their legislative agenda objectives in this very important 10th Assembly.
The speaker also read a letter from Mr Ikeaguonu Ugochinyere withdrawing his earlier nomination as Minority Leader.
The two letters put to rest the Minority Caucus leadership tussle in the House of Representatives following the resignation of the former Minority Leader, Mr Kingsley Chimda.
