The Dervac HUB has launched its 2026 Summer ICT Training Programme in Lagos as part of efforts to support the Federal Government’s drive to build a knowledge-based economy by equipping young Nigerians with practical digital skills.
The programme, which commenced at the Dervac HUB in Palmgrove, Lagos, is designed to complement the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy as well as the Federal Government’s 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) initiative by helping bridge the country’s digital skills gap.
The hub, the training and innovation arm of Dervac Global Services Limited, is hosting students from schools and communities across Lagos for intensive, hands-on training in digital technologies.
Participants will receive practical instruction in digital literacy, software development, web design, graphic design, computer hardware maintenance, data analysis, and other emerging technologies considered essential for national development.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Team Lead of Dervac HUB, Anjorin Ishaq, said the initiative demonstrates the private sector’s commitment to supporting the government’s human capital development agenda.

He said investing in young people is critical to enhancing Nigeria’s global competitiveness and building a workforce equipped with innovation, creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
According to the team lead, the annual summer programme forms part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at promoting digital inclusion, youth empowerment, and workforce readiness in support of Nigeria’s economic diversification efforts.
Ishaq added that participants would undergo project-based learning under experienced ICT professionals to prepare them for employment opportunities and enable them to contribute to sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and governance through technology.
At the end of the training, participants are expected to demonstrate practical competencies in coding, website development, data analysis, and computer maintenance, enhancing their prospects within Nigeria’s expanding digital economy.
Parents and other stakeholders commended the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention that productively engages young people during the school holidays while preparing them to contribute to innovation and economic growth.
Dervac HUB is a technology training, research, and innovation centre focused on developing Nigeria’s digital talent through practical training, professional certification, and innovation programmes that support the country’s digital transformation agenda.
