Investment Programme: Anambra Government lauds President Buhari’s administration

The Anambra state Government has commended the National Social Investment Programme (N-SIP), an initiative of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to ease the economic and social challenges faced by Nigerians.

Speaking during the Mr President’s thank you visit to the Njikoka local Government headquarters, Abagana, the Commissioner for Planning and Budget, Mrs Chiamaka Nnake applauded the Federal Government for its support to the poor and the most vulnerable in the society.

According to her, Anambra State has been a beneficiary since 2016 from Cash Transfers which are developed to give the poorest and the most vulnerable households a monthly cash transfer of N5000 to improve their means of livelihood.

The Commissioner further stated that through the N- Power program, Nigerians between the ages of 18-35 years are entitled to receive a monthly stipend of N30,000 implemented as a voluntary programme of 2-years initially, but now a one-year scheme.

Mrs Nnake explained that the three loan scheme of GEEP which are Trader Moni , Market Moni and Farmer Moni are created to give access to credit for the poor and vulnerable Nigerians.

She emphasized that the forum is to thank the president and appreciate him for his magnanimity,and urged the people to take advantage of the program to come and register.

The Transition Committee Chairman, Njikoka Local Government Area, Mr Clem Aguiyi in a remark, encouraged the citizenry to always key into all the Federal Government intervention programmes to benefit from the empowerment initiative.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on the Partnership, Mrs Ogochukwu Orji thanked the Federal Government for providing such programmes to alleviate the problem of the poor and the vulnerable in the society.

The beneficiaries of the Programme appreciated the Federal Government and the Soludo administration for their passion for the poorest of the poor in the society.

New Assistant Inspector General of Police

In another development, the Anambra State Police Command Wednesday, February 22,2023, received the newly deployed Assistant Inspector General of Police AIG Eboka Friday and three Commissioners of Police posted to Zone 13 headquarters, Ukpo and the Command respectively for election duty in the State.

According to the statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Tochukwu Ikenga, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police before his posting as the election supervisor of zone 13, comprising of Anambra and Enugu Command, was the AIG in charge of Zone 16.

He shall supervise the three Commissioners of Police deployed to the three senatorial districts of the state including the Commissioner of Police Anambra State Police Command CP Echeng Echeng for the 2023 general elections.

The commissioners include DCP Yusuf.A. Apaje for Anambra North and can be reached through the phone number 08037073372, CP Julius.A. The Command, therefore, urged the people of the state to come out en masse to exercise their franchise and vote for candidates of their choice; as adequate deployments have been made to ensure that elections are peaceful, hitch-free and secured.
