IWD 2023: Anambra Commissioner Urges Women To Maximise Innovative Opportunities

Anambra State Ministry of Women and Social Welfare, has joined her counterparts and women all over the world to mark the 2023 International Women’s Day.
Speaking on this year’s theme ‘Embrace Equity’, the Women and Social Welfare Commissioner Honourable Ify Obinabo noted that Equity is essential to create an inclusive world and urged all Anambra and Nigerian Women and girls to maximize every opportunity especially in innovation and technology, for gender equality.
The Women and social welfare commissioner, pointed out that it is time the world started talking about why equal opportunities aren’t enough especially in areas of technology and innovation. She encouraged women and girls in school, to embrace equality by taking up courses in science and Technology as such is not only meant for men.
Obinabo noted that International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women, who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.
She also pleaded and encouraged Anambra women to fully support All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA during the house of assembly election.
