The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has revoked the suspension of its State Chairman, Abubakar Kana-Zuru, and reinstated him with immediate effect.
The decision followed a resolution adopted by the State Working Committee (SWC) at its meeting on Wednesday, October 1, 2026, at the party’s state secretariat in Birnin Kebbi.
The resolution, referenced as KSWC/010/2026, stated that the committee had reviewed the circumstances and subsequent developments surrounding Kana-Zuru’s suspension and resolved to revoke the earlier decision.
It directed Kana-Zuru to immediately resume the full functions, powers, duties and responsibilities of the office of State Chairman.
The SWC also terminated the interim arrangement under which Alhaji Adamu Mudi Augie had been serving as Acting State Chairman.
Augie was directed to cease acting as State Chairman and resume his substantive position as Deputy State Chairman.
The committee further directed that all official records, documents, correspondence, instruments and other affairs relating to the office of State Chairman be handed over to Kana-Zuru.
It also directed the State Secretary to communicate the resolution to relevant organs of the party, including the APC National Headquarters, for information, record and necessary action in line with the party’s constitution and applicable directives.
The resolution took effect immediately upon its adoption.
Kana-Zuru was suspended from office in June 2026, following complaints from party stakeholders concerning his conduct of party affairs. At the time, the Deputy State Chairman was directed to serve in an acting capacity pending further directives.
The latest resolution brings the interim leadership arrangement to an end and restores Kana-Zuru to the position of APC State Chairman in Kebbi State.
