The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Senator Abubakar Sani Bello, has called for stronger bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and China.
Bello made the call when he received a Chinese delegation led by Ambassador Liu Jiayi, Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the Nigerian and Chinese representatives to exchange views on areas of bilateral importance, with emphasis on strengthening existing cooperation and promoting partnerships that would contribute to the development of both countries.

Bello stressed the need for continued dialogue and cooperation between the two countries as part of efforts to build stronger ties and enhance mutual understanding.
He noted that stronger bilateral relations would create opportunities for greater collaboration and contribute to the broader development of Nigeria and China.
Liu emphasised the importance of the engagement in further strengthening relations between the two countries and advancing areas of shared interest.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both sides to improved relations and mutual cooperation, while highlighting the importance of continued high-level engagements between Nigeria and China.
The engagement formed part of ongoing diplomatic interactions between the two countries as they seek to consolidate their longstanding relationship and explore additional areas of cooperation for mutual benefit.
