The Military Pensions Board (MPB) has held a consultative meeting with representatives of military veterans’ associations to address concerns and clarify issues surrounding the implementation of newly approved pension rates.
The meeting, provided an opportunity for the Board to explain the implementation process, respond to concerns raised by the veterans’ representatives and promote a common understanding of the new pension rates.
According to a press release issued by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Squadron Leader Aliyu Mohammed, the representatives expressed their understanding of the explanations provided and appreciated the opportunity to engage directly with the Board.

The discussions also emphasised the importance of sustained dialogue, mutual understanding and the use of established communication channels to address pension-related concerns.
The Board reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare of military pensioners, assuring the veterans’ representatives that it would continue to promote transparent communication and constructive engagement.

It also reiterated its commitment to the timely resolution of pension-related issues within its mandate.
The consultative meeting forms part of the Board’s engagement with military veterans to address concerns and strengthen understanding of the implementation of the newly approved pension rates.
