The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting initiatives and collaborations that create meaningful pathways for women and girls while strengthening efforts aimed at building a more inclusive and prosperous society.
The Minister made the commitment while receiving Miss World Nigeria 2026, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, during a courtesy visit in Abuja.
Minister Sulaiman-Ibrahim lauded the influence of young women who use their voices and platforms for positive change.
The Minister said, “We are confident of your rights and a lot is happening; we will not water down on our achievements.”
She further committed that “through collective action and purposeful leadership, more opportunities can be created for the next generation of Nigerian women to thrive and contribute meaningfully to national development”.
Speaking , Miss World Nigeria 2026, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, thanked the Minister for the audience and appealed for more opportunities for collaborations and for youths in the country.

“We are more than the society’s perception of who we are. We are capable of so much more when given the opportunity, especially young women and young kids. We all say that the children are the future of tomorrow, and if we don’t give the future a chance, we don’t have a future,” she said.
The meeting, which also highlighted the importance of partnerships that inspire confidence, promote inclusion and encourage more girls to pursue their aspirations without limitations, focused on shared interests in women’s and girls’ empowerment, advocacy and social impact.
