Nasarawa Electricity Distribution Limited (NAEDL) has reaffirmed its commitment to improving electricity service delivery across Nasarawa State through stronger collaboration with customers, communities and other stakeholders.
The commitment was made during a stakeholder engagement forum held in Keffi, where community leaders, market associations, residents and government representatives discussed challenges and opportunities in the power sector.
Representing the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Abuja Electricity Distribution Plc. (AEDC), Chijioke Okwuokenye, the Chief Operating Officer, Blessing Ogbe, said sustainable improvements in electricity supply require cooperation between the utility company and consumers, alongside investments in network expansion, metering and customer service.

According to him, the company remains committed to building lasting partnerships with communities to ensure better service delivery.
He also assured customers who paid for meters under the Meter Asset Provider (MAP) scheme that refunds would be implemented in line with regulatory guidelines through a transparent process.
Speaking at the forum, NAEDL Managing Director, Veronica Abah, urged communities to protect electricity infrastructure.
She noted that vandalism, energy theft and damage to distribution assets continue to affect service reliability and increase operational costs.
Abah said improving power supply is a shared responsibility, stressing that transformers, cables and other installations are collective assets that must be safeguarded for the benefit of all.
Also speaking, AEDC Chief Regulatory Officer, Emmanuel Ogwuche, said the engagement programme was designed to ensure customer concerns are incorporated into decision-making processes.
He added that ongoing network upgrades and improved operational responsiveness are aimed at strengthening electricity distribution across the State.
The forum featured a question-and-answer session during which customers raised concerns over billing, metering, service interruptions and infrastructure challenges.
Company officials pledged to address issues requiring immediate attention.
Participants described the engagement as a positive step towards strengthening the relationship between the electricity distributor and the communities it serves.
NAEDL is a subsidiary of Abuja Electricity Distribution Plc. responsible for electricity distribution services across Nasarawa State.
