Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has sworn in newly appointed commissioners, special advisers, permanent secretaries and members of the Judicial Service Commission and State Independent Electoral Commission, charging them to uphold public trust and prioritise the state’s development.
The appointments followed a cabinet reshuffle and the filling of vacancies in key institutions to strengthen administrative efficiency and accelerate the implementation of government programmes.
At the swearing-in ceremony in Lafia, Sule said eight new commissioners had been screened and confirmed by the Nasarawa State House of Assembly to join the State Executive Council.
He noted that vacancies in the Judicial Service Commission had also been filled to strengthen judicial administration, while new members of the State Independent Electoral Commission would support the conduct of forthcoming local government elections.

The governor added that permanent secretary positions had been filled based on merit and the quota system to ensure administrative stability across the ministries.
Sule urged the newly appointed officials to place public interest above personal, political or sectional considerations and maintain transparency and discipline in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The governor also disclosed an investigation into the alleged diversion and sale of equipment donated to a primary healthcare facility in the state.
According to Sule, a state lawmaker had privately purchased and donated mattresses, ceiling fans and standing fans to a local primary healthcare facility, only to discover that the items had allegedly been sold by some members of staff.
He described the incident as a serious breach of public trust and directed the Commissioner for Health to investigate the matter, terminate the appointments of those found responsible and submit a report on the outcome.
Sule stressed that officials found culpable would face prosecution in addition to dismissal.
The governor urged the appointees to establish effective working relationships with permanent secretaries and other civil servants, stressing the need for cooperation and professionalism as political activities intensify across the state.
