The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa has congratulated Nigerian-born entrepreneur and technology leader, Bukola Babajide, on her appointment as a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) by King Charles III.
Babajide received the prestigious honour as part of the King’s Birthday Honours List in recognition of her outstanding contributions to technology, business development, and inclusion in the United Kingdom and beyond.
A respected technology expert and founder of Crystal Options Ltd. and Female Techpreneur, Babajide has been widely recognised for her efforts in promoting innovation, empowering entrepreneurs, and advancing diversity in the technology sector.
Dabiri-Erewa described the award as a fitting recognition of Babajide’s excellence, innovation, and leadership, noting that “her achievements continue to bring pride to Nigeria and the global Nigerian diaspora community.”
She said; “Bukola Babajide’s recognition with the MBE is a testament to the resilience, brilliance, and positive impact of Nigerians across the world. Through her work in technology, entrepreneurship, and advocacy for inclusion, she has demonstrated the values of hard work, innovation, and service that distinguish Nigerians globally.”
The NiDCOM Chairman said that the honour highlights the significant contributions Nigerians in the diaspora are making to economic growth, technological advancement, and social development in their countries of residence while maintaining strong connections with Nigeria.
She further commended Babajide for serving as an inspiration to young Nigerians, especially women and aspiring entrepreneurs, encouraging them to pursue excellence and make meaningful contributions to society.
Dabiri-Erewa expressed confidence that the recognition would motivate more Nigerians in the diaspora to continue making positive impacts in their communities and contribute to Nigeria’s development.
She wished Babajide continued success in her future endeavours.
