The Nigerian Government has expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions and reported attacks involving the Houthi militia in Yemen and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, urging all parties to exercise maximum restraint and embrace dialogue to prevent further deterioration of the situation.

In a statement issued by the spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa, the government called for the immediate de-escalation of hostilities, warning that continued violence could endanger civilian lives and threaten regional peace and stability.

“Nigeria urges the parties involved to prioritise diplomacy and peaceful engagement in resolving their differences, in line with the principles of the United Nations Charter and international law,” noted the statement.

The Nigerian Government stressed that any further escalation of the conflict would pose serious risks to regional security and stability, underscoring the need for constructive dialogue rather than military confrontation.

Reaffirming its longstanding commitment to the peaceful resolution of disputes, Nigeria pledged its support for all genuine efforts aimed at easing tensions, restoring calm, and promoting lasting peace and stability across the region.
