Nigeria, Finland Advance Partnership on Technology, Others

Nigeria and Finland have begun discussions aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation in key sectors, including digital infrastructure, energy, health, education and emerging technologies.

Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, received the Ambassador of Finland to Nigeria, Sanna Selin, during a meeting focused on expanding collaboration between both countries.

During the discussions, both sides explored opportunities for enhanced cooperation in digital project infrastructure and digital partnerships, as well as energy solutions, healthcare and education development.

They also examined prospects in Artificial Intelligence, telecommunications, smart technology and technical solutions for weather forecasting, areas considered critical to innovation and sustainable development.

The meeting further highlighted the importance of strengthening business-to-business engagement between Nigerian and Finnish companies to boost investment and economic cooperation.

In addition, the two countries discussed creating stronger partnerships between Nigerian institutions and Finnish technology ecosystems to encourage knowledge exchange, innovation and capacity building.

The engagement reflects the growing commitment of Nigeria and Finland to building mutually beneficial partnerships that support technological advancement and economic growth.
