An afro-fusion singer, Seun Oluyole, also known as Sean Dampte, has said that the entertainment industry has the capacity to create millions of jobs in a year if the government puts in place suitable policies that will galvanize the sector.

He said, “On our own, we have been able to make Nigerian music a global brand. One can only imagine what would happen if the government puts in place the right structures.

In the United States of America, entertainment is one of their biggest sources of revenue. During the COVID-19 lockdown, the United Kingdom supported its entertainment industry because it was one of the few industries that were working. Entertainment rules the world and Nigeria should be a global player; not a local one.”

The singer also stated that he has an acute fear of poverty. He said, “The fear of poverty is my biggest motivation for success. My latest single, ‘I dey Consider’ speaks to that fact. I am working hard so that I would never be poor.”

The Lagos State-born singer also signified his intention to run for the Presidency at the ‘right time’ to “further help Nigeria, especially in the area of technology revolution; having come from a finance and technology background. I have a vision to help the Nigerian youth, many of whom are involved in ICT and entertainment.”
