English Premier League side Watford Football Club have confirmed the signing of Nigerian striker Emmanuel Dennis from Belgian Jupiler League side Club Brugge.

“An agreement with Club Brugge has been reached for the transfer of exciting young forward Emmanuel Dennis, we are delighted to confirm,” Watford announced in a statement on its official website,

Dennis, 23, spent part of last season on loan in Germany’s Bundesliga with FC Köln, having first joined the Belgian top-flight side in the summer of 2017.

The striker scored 27 goals in just over 90 club appearances for Club Brugge, and  featured in both the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League. Dennis caught the eye of many after he scored twice against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu in a Champions League encounter in 2019.

The Hornets already have three Nigerian players in their ranks (William Troost Ekong, Isaac Success, and Tom Dele Basher), and they’ve added another ahead of the new Premier League season.
