The projects were commissioned on behalf of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, by the Navy Secretary, Rear Admiral Abdul-Hamid Baba-Inna.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, described the projects as a demonstration of the Federal Governmentās commitment to infrastructural development, improved service delivery, and the welfare of naval personnel.

He said the successful completion of the projects reflected purposeful leadership, prudent management of resources, and dedication to national development.

According to him, the projects would enhance operational efficiency, improve service delivery, and positively impact the host community.
Abbas also commended the Dawakin Tofa community, the Kano State Government, contractors, and security agencies for their support and collaboration with the Nigerian Navy.
He stressed the importance of proper maintenance of public infrastructure to ensure sustainability and urged the college management to make effective use of the facilities.
The Naval Chief reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigerian Navy to national development beyond its constitutional role of maritime security.

Earlier, the Commandant of the Nigerian Navy Logistics College, Air Commodore Abubakar Ahmed Madawaki, said the projects were aimed at improving the welfare of personnel of the college.
He explained that the commissioned projects include a block of a one-storey classroom building, a block of sixteen two-bedroom flats, and two blocks containing twenty one-bedroom flats.
According to him, the classroom block is part of the proposed Nigerian Navy Primary School, while the residential buildings are meant to provide comfortable accommodation for senior ratings and officers of the college.
Rear Admiral Madawaki noted that many personnel were previously living in rented apartments and arrival halls, a situation he described as uncomfortable and unsustainable.
He expressed appreciation to the Chief of the Naval Staff for his continued support towards the growth and development of the college.
The event, attended by heads of security agencies and other dignitaries, also featured a tree-planting exercise and the commissioning of newly constructed blocks.
