The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), in partnership with the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) and African Motor Works (AMW), has launched a multipurpose smart filling station in Abuja.
The facility, designed to provide a range of services to motorists and other consumers, features electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and lubricants.
Speaking at the launch, the Executive Director, NNPC Retail Filling Station Operations and Mobility, Mr Baba Kukawa, said the facility would operate a self-service fuelling system and also include an auto-care centre, mini-mart and supermarket, among other services.
Kukawa said the facility was established through a partnership involving NNPC Retail, the NIS, AMW and other development partners.
Also speaking, the Managing Director of NNPC Retail, Mr Huib Stokman, commended the partners for their contributions to the project.
Stokman said the development demonstrated continued progress in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector and would provide modern and efficient services to customers.
The Comptroller-General of the NIS, Mrs Kemi Nanna Nandap, also commended the initiative, saying the partnership would support the Service in fulfilling some of its mandates.
Nandap, who was represented by the Deputy Comptroller, Mr Bashir Daura, said the NIS remained committed to strengthening the partnership and exploring further opportunities for collaboration.
