Orderly Voting in Ado-Ekiti as PWDs, Early Voters Turn Out

Voting across the 344 polling units in Ado-Ekiti has been largely calm and orderly on Saturday, June 20, 2026, with a strong turnout of both young and elderly voters.

Voters arrived at polling centres before the 8:00 a.m. start time, and name verification commenced promptly as scheduled. The process has so far been smooth, with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and IReV portals functioning properly.

Accessibility was prioritised, as Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) had designated spots at polling units and were able to exercise their franchise without hindrance.

Speaking to election observer Mr. Haruna Shedrac, of Intercontinental Leadership Initiative, he said, he and his colleagues were satisfied with the conduct of the exercise as at the time of reporting. “The atmosphere is peaceful. Officials and voters are complying with INEC guidelines,” he noted.

Voting is ongoing across the state capital. INEC officials and security personnel are on the ground, and it is expected that the current calm and orderly status quo will be maintained until the close of polls.
