The Commissioner of Police in Sokoto State, Hayatu Hassan Shaffa, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to strengthening collaboration with the judiciary to enhance criminal justice administration and improve the prosecution of criminal cases.

Shaffa stated this during separate familiarisation visits to the Chief Judge of Sokoto State, Justice Muhammad Saidu Sifawa, and the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Nasir Muhammad Binji, in Sokoto.

He described the police and the judiciary as indispensable partners in the administration of justice, stressing that closer cooperation would improve the quality of investigations, support effective prosecution and ensure timely dispensation of justice.

The police commissioner also reiterated the command’s commitment to evidence-based investigations, intelligence-led policing and strict compliance with the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) in carrying out its duties.

According to him, sustained engagement with judicial institutions will also strengthen the capacity of police personnel to tackle emerging crimes and address challenges that delay prosecution.
