President Tinubu Commissions Nigeria Revenue Service Headquarters in Abuja

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially commissioned the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.

President Tinubu was joined at the commissioning of the world-class edifice by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio; Deputy Senate President, Jibrin Barau; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Kalu; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; members of the Federal Executive Council; and members of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum led by its Chairman, Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

The landmark event marks the transition from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to the new Nigeria Revenue Service, reflecting a major reform in national revenue administration.

The facility comprises 16 floors, three towers, and has a capacity for 3,000 personnel.

President Tinubu signed the Nigeria Revenue Service (Establishment) Act 2025 in June 2025, officially renaming the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS).

The rebranding, unveiled on January 1, 2026, aims to modernise tax administration, unify revenue collection, and strengthen the nation’s financial framework.

With Zacch Adedeji serving as Executive Chairman, the Nigeria Revenue Service is focused on automating processes, enhancing the taxpayer experience, and simplifying compliance in line with the provisions of the Nigeria Revenue Service Act 2025.

Principal officers of the National Assembly were also present, including Senators Ned Nwoko, Abdulaziz Yari, Abba Moro, and Ahmed Wadada.

Also present were the governors of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang; Anambra State, Professor Charles Soludo; Kogi State, Usman Ododo; Borno State, Babagana Zulum; and Imo State, Hope Uzodimma; the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike; Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa; captains of industry; ambassadors; and members of the diplomatic community.
