President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised Vice President Kashim Shettima for his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress, APC, steadfast support for his administration and unwavering commitment to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Nigerian President gave the commendation in a message celebrating Vice President Shettima, who turns 60 on September 2, describing him as a trusted partner whose loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty have remained invaluable to the administration.
President Tinubu described Shettima as more than a trusted ally and valued colleague, saying his life has been defined by patriotism, service, commitment and sacrifice for worthy causes.
“I commend him for his years of dedicated public service, first as Governor of Borno State and subsequently as Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“In both capacities, Kashim has demonstrated courage, diligence, compassion and an abiding commitment to improving the lives of the people.
“I acknowledge, in particular, Vice-President Shettima’s loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), support for the administration and his unwavering dedication to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” the President added.
Compassion in All Capacity
He commended the Vice President’s record of public service, particularly his tenure as Governor of Borno State and his current role as Vice President, noting that he has demonstrated courage, diligence and compassion in both capacities.
The President also highlighted Shettima’s leadership as Chairman of the National Economic Council, saying he has played an important role in coordinating economic policy and strengthening collaboration between the Federal Government and sub-national governments.
According to President Tinubu, the Vice President’s respect for constitutional governance, democratic institutions, dialogue and consultation has also contributed to strengthening good governance.
“I am confident that working together, we will continue to make meaningful progress in building the Nigeria of our dreams,” President Tinubu said.
The President also celebrated VP Shettima’s distinguished banking career and contributions to Borno State and Nigeria, particularly his commitment to national progress and unity.
President Tinubu congratulated the Vice President’s wife, Nana, his children, family and political associates on the milestone and prayed for continued wisdom, good health and many more years of purposeful service to Nigeria.
