President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in Mr Abel Enitan as Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, succeeding Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, who retired after attaining the statutory age of 60.
The swearing-in ceremony, held on Thursday at the State House, Abuja, was attended by the Permanent Secretary, State House, Temitope Fashedemi, alongside other senior government officials.
Mr Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan’s appointment as Head of the Civil Service of the Federation was announced by the Presidency on August 19, 2026, with effect from August 27.

Before his elevation, Mr Enitan was the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education and the most senior Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service.
