A presidential delegation has visited the family of the late Alhaji Hamza Usman Darma in Kano to offer condolences over his death.
The delegation comprised the Special Adviser to the President, Ibrahim Kabir Masari; Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin; and the governors of Yobe, Sokoto and Jigawa states.
The delegation also conveyed the condolences of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Government to the Kano State Government and the people of the state.
According to a statement by the Kano State Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the delegation described the death of Darma as a loss to Kano State and Nigeria.
Delivering the condolence message, Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul and asked Allah to grant his family and loved ones the strength to bear the loss.
The delegation also acknowledged the late Darma’s contributions to Kano State and the country.
Responding on behalf of the family, Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, thanked President Tinubu and members of the delegation for the visit.
Governor Yusuf said the visit demonstrated the president’s solidarity with the family and the people of Kano following Darma’s death.
The late Hamza Usman Darma was a prominent politician and elder statesman in Kano.
