Troops of Operation HADIN KAI Sector 2, alongside the Yobe State Hunters Group, arrested five suspected kidnappers during a coordinated, intelligence-led operation in Jegalari Village, Fune Local Government Area of Yobe State.
The operational update was disclosed in a statement signed by Acting Military Information Officer, Captain Mohammed Goni.
According to the statement, troops of 233 Battalion deployed from Damaturu Military Cantonment acted on credible intelligence regarding the activities of the suspected criminal syndicate before executing the raid on 23 July. The operation reflects the Theatre’s expanding emphasis on intelligence exploitation and collaboration with local security partners to dismantle criminal networks before attacks are carried out.

Security forces recovered three locally fabricated AK-47 rifles, one locally made pistol, assorted ammunition and four mobile phones believed to be connected to the suspects’ activities. The recovered weapons and communication devices are expected to support ongoing investigations into kidnapping and other organised criminal operations within the area.
Military authorities disclosed that the five suspects remain in custody alongside the recovered exhibits as investigations continue to determine the full extent of their involvement in kidnapping and related crimes across the North-East.
Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed that sustained intelligence-led operations remain central to denying terrorists and other criminal elements freedom of action throughout the theatre. The command also urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information, stressing that community cooperation remains a critical force multiplier in protecting lives, disrupting criminal networks and sustaining security gains across the region.
