Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have recorded significant operational successes across Sector 4 of the Joint Operations Area in Adamawa State, following coordinated engagements between September 30 and October 1, 2026.
A statement by the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, said the operations included ground engagements, air operations and defensive actions that resulted in the neutralisation of several terrorists, recovery of arms and ammunition, and the disruption of attempted attacks on military positions.
The operational successes began in the Boima general area of Gombi Local Government Area, where troops conducted an ambush against a terrorist group, resulting in the neutralisation of 16 terrorists.
The statement said subsequent exploitation of the area led to the recovery of several firearms, magazines and ammunition, further disrupting the terrorists’ operational capability within the sector.
In a separate operation on October 1, the Air Component of OPHK conducted a precision strike following the detection of a group of terrorists gathered with motorcycles in Sector 4. The target was successfully engaged, with subsequent assessment confirming the destruction of the targeted position, while surviving elements dispersed from the area.
The troops also repelled coordinated attacks on military positions at 226 Battalion in Garkida and 232 Battalion in Garaha. The attackers were forced to withdraw following the defensive response.
The statement, however, disclosed that three soldiers were killed during the engagements, while wounded personnel were evacuated for medical treatment and are reported to be in stable condition. Follow-up exploitation and clearance operations are ongoing across the affected areas.

The operational successes come as Headquarters Theatre Command continues efforts to strengthen joint integration, improve coordination and enhance operational synergy among land, air and supporting elements involved in counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations.
The Theatre Command said it would sustain intelligence-led operations and joint capabilities aimed at restricting terrorist activities across the North East while strengthening conditions for peace, security and socio-economic development in the region.
As Nigerians mark the nation’s Independence Anniversary, the Theatre Command reaffirmed the commitment of OPHK troops to protecting Nigeria’s territorial integrity and maintaining security across the North East.
Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, also appreciated the continued support of the public and urged citizens to remain vigilant and provide timely and credible information to security agencies as operations continue across the Theatre.
