Zeberced Unveils Technical School, Industrial Expansion Plans

Zeberced Group has announced plans to establish a Technical and Vocational Training School expected to train about 20,000 young Nigerians over the coming years while projecting the creation of 40,000 direct jobs through its expanding industrial operations.

The Managing Director of Zeberced Group, Mr Adil Aydin Kurt, disclosed the plans during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, led by its Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, to the company’s facilities at the Abuja Industrial Park Free Zone.

Mr Kurt said the proposed institution would admit about 2,000 trainees annually in technical and vocational fields aimed at equipping young Nigerians with practical skills for employment and entrepreneurship.

According to him, the school will offer courses in Construction Technology, Machine and Design Technology, Motor Vehicle Technology, Plumbing Technology, Metal Technology, Furniture Technology, and Electrical and Electronics Technology.

He said the project forms part of the company’s long-term investment strategy to support skills development and strengthen Nigeria’s industrial workforce.

“Zeberced is currently working on a vocational training school which will offer training in various fields to young Nigerians and, in the process, provide 40,000 direct jobs. This is going to be a sample project and is presently the biggest operation of its kind in West Africa,” Mr Kurt said.

The Managing Director also announced plans to establish a football academy designed to identify and nurture talented children and young people for opportunities in professional football.

He stated that the company intends to expand its investments in manufacturing and industrial infrastructure by facilitating the establishment of more factories within the Idu Industrial Area to promote local production and create employment opportunities.

Mr Kurt said Zeberced has continued to invest in Nigeria despite operational challenges encountered since it began developing its industrial projects about 15 years ago.

He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to long-term investments in skills development, technology and manufacturing.

“We are very serious about our work. We need to bring qualified people from different parts of the world to Nigeria because the future is Africa,” he said.

Speaking during the visit, the Chairman of the NUJ FCT Council, Comrade Grace Ike, commended the company’s investment in vocational education and youth empowerment.

She said the proposed training institution could contribute to addressing unemployment by equipping young people with practical skills while supporting Nigeria’s industrial growth.

Comrade Ike also briefed the company’s management on the Council’s ongoing Congress Hall project and appealed for support towards its completion.

In response, Mr Kurt expressed the company’s readiness to partner with the Council on initiatives that promote institutional development and capacity building.

The visit ended with both organisations expressing interest in strengthening collaboration in areas of skills development, industrial growth and professional capacity building.
