Zelenskiy To Hold Important Talks In Turkey

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said he would hold “important” talks in Turkey as part of diplomatic efforts to end the war with Russia.

He disclosed this in his nightly video address, saying the discussions were linked to efforts to resume negotiations in November aimed at finding a resolution to the conflict

“Important negotiations will take place in Turkey. We are also working to ensure that all available diplomatic opportunities are pursued; we expect that in November we will be able to move towards the formats that have been under discussion for such a long time.” Zelenskiy said.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s communications director, Burhanettin Duran, also said on X that Zelenskiy would meet Erdogan in Istanbul on Saturday.

Zelenskiy said earlier this week that he hoped a trilateral meeting in Abu Dhabi between November 6 and 10 would bring together peace negotiators from Ukraine, Russia and the United States.

He added that Kyiv wanted European countries to be involved in discussions on ending the war.
