Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy is expected in Oslo on Tuesday for talks with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere and Finnish President Alexander Stubb on the war with Russia and European security.
The meeting comes amid renewed diplomatic efforts to end the war, which began with Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Discussions are expected to focus on the conflict and the broader security situation in Europe.
According to the Norwegian government, Zelenskiy requested that Norway and Finland arrange the meeting as part of ongoing diplomatic initiatives at a critical time for Ukraine.

Stubb confirmed that he would join Zelenskiy and Stoere for discussions on Russia’s war against Ukraine and regional security. The three leaders are also scheduled to hold a joint press conference later on Tuesday.
The visit follows a report on Monday that US President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, was expected to travel to Norway this week for talks aimed at ending the conflict. Zelenskiy and European representatives were also reported to be expected to attend the negotiations.
However, the official statements from Norway and Finland did not mention the participation of US or other European delegations in Tuesday’s meeting.
The talks highlight continued diplomatic engagement among Ukraine’s European partners as efforts to address the war and its implications for regional security continue.
