2027 Election: APGA Clears 155 Aspirants for Anambra Primaries

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has cleared 155 aspirants to participate in its primary elections for the Senate, House of Representatives and Anambra State House of Assembly ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.

According to a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, eight aspirants were cleared forthe senatorial primaries, while 40 were approved for the House of Representatives contests. Another 107 aspirants were screened and cleared for the Anambra State House of Assembly primaries.

APGA said all successful aspirants are expected to collect their nomination forms at the party’s regional office in Awka, the Anambra State capital, on Monday, May 18, 2026.

“The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) hereby publishes the list of successfully screened aspirants for the 2026 Primary Elections in Anambra State,” the statement said.

The party added that the sale of nomination forms would close on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, and urged aspirants to complete the process within the stipulated deadline.

Opara said the party’s National Working Committee congratulated the successful aspirants and wished them success in the forthcoming primary elections.

The primaries form part of preparations by political parties across Nigeria for the 2027 general elections, with APGA seeking to consolidate its influence in Anambra State, where it remains the ruling party.
