He insisted that his government remains committed to the fight against the Boko Haram insurgents, bandits and other criminals in the country.

“One can clearly see how these foreign countries took on our weaker part of Nigeria, the Lake Chad region, where we have reserves of Crude Oil and caused serious mayhem there, with consistent attacks.”

President Buhari added that, in Lake Chad, if not that Borno state has a Governor like Ummara Zulum, who is serious on his duties, the story would have been different by now.

According to him, in 2015 when he assumed office, in Borno many Local Government Areas were in the control of Boko Haram, “And we are aware that some people are using the insurgents to cause problems, but today most of these Local Governments are free.”

President lamented that those destroying Borno state, using Boko Haram know that Borno is a potentially rich state, “That was why when I was a Governor there, I went to Niger, Chad and even Cameroon because you need your Neighbours to survive.”

President Buhari commended Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for the infrastructural developments in the state.

He also extended commendations to the Governors of Lagos, Kaduna, Katsina and Kogi states for performing creditably in the dispensation of democratic dividends while urging stakeholders to help promote the education of youths who he described as potential leaders, pointing out that lack of education breeds social problems.
