The Head of the ECOWAS Election Observation Mission (ECOWAS – EOM) for the Presidential Election in Nigeria, Ernest Bai Koroma, former President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, has called for a rancour free polls that reflects the will of the Nigerian people.
Mr. Koroma, who arrived in Abuja, the Nigerian capital ahead of the February 25th Presidential and National Assembly Elections explained that credible election in Nigeria, which is the biggest democracy in Africa, will send a strong signal to countries conducting elections within the region to adhere to democracy and good governance.

On a visit to the President of the ECOWAS Commission, Dr. Omar Alieu Touray, Mr. Koroma, assured him that the confidence imposed on him will be taken with all sense of responsibility.
While welcoming President Koroma, Dr. Omar Alieu Touray, the President of the ECOWAS Commission, stressed that ECOWAS is strongly committed to supporting peaceful elections and good governance in the Region.
