Voter laments late arrival of INEC Officials to polling station

Residents of Jalingo the Taraba state capital have lamented over the late arrivals of voting materials in most polling stations in the state capital.

 

Mallam Hassan Audu who registered at Kofan Sintali Polling Unit said many voters arrived at the polling Unit as early as 8:am but there were no elections officials at the venue.

 

” We are worried that this is almost 10:AM and voting has not started and the weather here is very hot this may discourage eligible voters from casting their vote as they may not withstand the weather when it gets hotter”

 

“If we are experiencing late arrival of Elections materials here in Jalingo the Taraba State capital we wonder what will happen in the rural areas”

 

Correspondent’s report from other zones of Wakari, Takum and Zing revealed that voting has started in a few polling stations.

 

Taraba has about 2,224,034 million registered voters across 16 local government areas of the state.
