In the bid to develop knowledge, understanding, and strengthening growth in businesses. The focus Africa Business Roundtable speakers and panellists have met in Abuja Nigeria’s capital to discuss ways to strengthen policies around businesses in the country and the African continent at large.

They agreed that the involvement of African governments and private sectors as well as other key players would move the African businesses forward.

The President of Focus Africa Series project, Mr. Success Bright said that the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement is part of Focus Africa’s objectives.

We believe in private sector led solutions to problems because the government is grappling with a whole lot already, so now we are supporting the government to promote its economic policies using our platform” He said.

He reiterated that their partnership with the government can help in many ways because of their presence in many countries already.

“For instance, there is a Raw material Research Council in Nigeria, we can promote what they are doing so that other countries can see the raw materials available in Nigeria and patronize Nigeria. We can also do the same thing in other countries, Morocco, the Gambia, and others”

He noted that businesses all over the globe face a lot of challenges, such as environmental, taxes, regulatory policies, and much more.

The Chairperson, Focus Africa Women Forum Dr Alanyingi Uduak Sylva emphasized the importance of small beginnings in everything because when being perfected will make great impacts.

In the Federal Executive Council, how many ministers do we have that sit in the FEC meeting? only a fraction, but what happens? Every decision they make affects all of us, more than 200 million people.

She noted that for businesses to remain sustainable, there is the need to evolve, to train and to plan for succession, and hence, it will become redundant.

The Focus Africa business Roundtable forum showcases African business, where people in business, policy makers, researchers, and others meet and discuss African businesses the way forward.

The theme of the event is “Expanding access to Nigeria-Africa markets to enhance sustainable economic development.”

Highlight of the event is recognition and awards.
